In my work, particular questions interest me – what ‘observation’ might mean in drawing; drawing’s relationship to painting; line as an exploration of space, boundary and edge, its relation to – and trace of – movement and also the idea of line as a physical entity.

Many of these things I think are bound up with each other. The very frailty of aspects of the language of drawing attract me.

Using basic DIY and craft materials such as wood, dowels, bolts, various fabrics, paper etc I make sometimes modular, often collapsible objects of no fixed form or orientation.

Touch and hapticity, speed of surface and how a part relates to a whole are also considerations.
